One Disc Caliper to assemble and then bleed the brakes. Still messing with an alternator
mount options. Very little room, low mount would not fit.

Here is the C/FX car with 289 Hoefer Bros note the finals "T" sticker on the top of the windshield. Some of the 64-65 comets with 289 also ran C/FX

I just ordered one from summit last night. Think I'm gonna have to do some clearance work on the waterpump. Thanks for hunting one up. The one on it is a 48 year old oe piece. Not doing that.

I rotated the tires on my OT Silverado and put new plugs in it.. I will start loading all of my swap meet stuff up in it tomorrow evening. Thursday morning we will be heading out. I think we are going to try to get up there for the cruise night at the drive in restaurant. Can anyone tell me the name of it?

I am going to try to get a room somewhere for Thursday night then we will set up our swap meet stuff and our camping tent Friday morning.

Great warmup for Meltdown this week, we took the Hilltown Shaker to the Nostalgia Nationals at Beaver Springs and Ran 9.58s and 9.59 all day and won Competition Eliminator, put 10 runs on the car this weekend and hurt nothing
Off to Byron we go IMG955087 (3).jpg

image.jpg So my tire guy dropped the bomb on me today that his distributors didn't have any of the tire I wanted in stock, and M/T isn't going to run another batch until August or September.....And the distributor just decided not to tell him until he called asking where the hell the tires were (which were promised to him for Friday)....
So luckily,Summit had a pair of these lil fellers in stock:

This year "Byronfest" is the same weekend as the Meltdown...coincidence...I think not.

So, this means that some of the streets in town will be closed on Friday and Saturday for the street party, bands, etc.

If you are going to cruise to Sam's, I would recommend it on Thursday or Sunday...my gut feeling tells me that Friday and Saturday might be a little bit of a mess in Byron.

It's going to be a mess because we have an apartment rented for the weekend downtown Byron...women and children better hide.

This is what happens when you're in full thrash mode and do stupid sh*t when you're tired. I added a timing wheel and forgot to check the clearance on the crank support before I sent it to Wiebe Automotive for the baseline tune up. It scared the crap out of Jeff Wiebe when it started screaming and spitting aluminum at him when he fired it up. Jeff took it all apart and made it right... sorry Jeff. Scout should be ready tomorrow (Tuesday) and we'll pick it up Wed am on the way past to the border.

Also - I inspected the used chute I bought for the Scout and my "good friend's" description of - "Race ready" and "Great shape", turned out to be ratty, tattered and not safe. The main canopy looks ok but the pilot chute is beat up and the material looks like the mice got at it. I could buy a new pilot chute but I decided to buy a whole new chute and be confident about it. Jeg's will be shipping it to the Hotel in Rockford so it will be there when we check in.

We decided to leave earlier this year and we'll be stopping for the night in Eau Claire Wisconsin. At our age it's a better idea to stop and get the required rest rather than trying to Iron-Man it through the night.

We leave in 40 hrs ... see you all there
