Event Coverage Welcome to the 2017 Meltdown Drags

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Okiedoker, Oct 6, 2016.

  1. Hans is a brand name. Alot of people miss use the name calling any neck restraint a hans. Mine is a necksgen. I prefer this one for several reasons. Its very comfortable and easy to get on and off. Its more comfortable in the high back seat. The reality is this
Racing with a helmet on can be more dangerous if you were to crash and not hit your head. The extra mass from the helmet contributes to the neck over extending upon impact. The body is held in place with a restraint system. The head has nothing. Your neck becomes a slinky. Thats were the danger is. Thats what causes neck injuries. Thats what killed ernhardt. The restraint connects to the helmet keeping the spine intact. The cheaper the helmet the heavier it is also contributing to neck injuries. They dont make carbon fiber helmets to just look cool.

You think this drag racing is fun to get safety up for....you should try salt flat racing.......it takes awhile to chase you do if something goes wrong there.

I once knew a girl in college whose head was like a slinky....

    Sorry...back to car stuff.

Here is some other news to get people excited....

We have had 8 guys from the Nostalgia Super Stock group make MAJOR changes to their cars to be part of the Meltdown Drags. We are talking full wheel/tire changes, paint/graphic/lettering changes just to be part of the Meltdown Drags. These are some fun cars to watch.

Also....a little more nitro this year....I personally can't wait to see this coupe run on Saturday night!

  9. Looks like a great match race for saturday under the lights. I had my eye on the purple roadster that runs alcohol for the weekends racing. Running another nitro car would be more fun. Im all for it. Bring ear plugs its gonna get loud

I hope they will be up for some Grudge/Match Racing. Alot of those guys are a stick in the mud in that department.

I know it's in here, and been addressed before, but.....

My golf cart broke. Are they allowing grown folks to use a Quad, for car support, etc??

  24. bill you can also try pegassus racing in new berlin. most drag guys don't know of them because they are road course guys. they do carry a full line of fire suits and helmets. they have a lot of items that cross over to drag guys grab a catalog while there. 1800-688-6946

  28. you are very lucky it didn't burn a little more piston away. if it did you would have had a chance to test out your new fire suit and diaper. that sucks I have been there. I hope you get it figured out. it might be time to invest in some aluminum rods at this point seeing its going to take a set of pistons. was the nozzle plugged on that cylinder? I would pull it and check. also what cylinder was that?
