  3. Bob, i did not dig much further. i borrowed the trenching tool when we went back to get the hub cap. if i had it the first day i would have dug the whole thing up. i did most of the digging with my bare hands.
someone who lives on the island and has access to a truck, wheel barrow and or tractor needs to dig this up. as read in the link i posted, the island of Nantucket band motor vehicles until 1919. if this is a 1920 and there were not any gas stations, dealers or any other automobile support system, before then, this may have been one of the first cars on the island. it should be dragged out and put on display.

1919 was the first year Ford sold a T with a starter, so that could have been a brand new car when it arrived on the island. Bob

  22. Must be an old tradition....Frank Lockhart's Blackhawk was buried on the Daytona Shores beach where he crashed and died in 1927. It was uncovered and removed in the 1980's.

There was a man holidaying at Nantucket
He owned hotrods (but not a T bucket)
He found a T in the sands
Dug it up with his hands
And then he proceeded to pluck it (the starter switch that is)

Sorry, best I do at short notice.
