  1. Got some stuff done today. Not sure if it'll seal, but I got a little fuel line run from my pump to my carb:

  3. I'm hoping I can get everything set up so I can light it off. I have a pretty short list to get to that point. From there it will be radiator and grille time

  6. Got my distributor set, motor timed and plugs ran (before you ask...yes the plug wires are temporary)

Is there a gasket or seal that goes here?

Also got some hardware together for my clutch linkage. The only issue is it looks like I have just a tiny bit of interference with my Clovis bolt. I'll have to hear it up and bend it just a bit.

This is a great build thread and a true inspiration, I'm following!

Also, I fired that bitch up! Started perfect, had great throttle response...only issue is my fuel pump doesn't seem to be pumping fuel which is a bummer

Asking because I don't know - is running the brake lines down the rear wishbone ok? Seems like a side load twisting bump would stress the lines where there is no flex (rubber) line.

Yeah it's fine. With a torque tube none of that stuff better be moving, if it's moving enough to mess with that brake line you've likely put the car off a cliff

  12. I assume you have a rubber line from the master cylinder to where the brake lines are attached to the torque tube/wishbone.

  13. So after I got it to make some noise I decided to finally see what my fan/radiator situation was going to be like. So I borrowed an sbc 32 radiator from a buddy just to mockup

The results are good (if My motor is foreword enough that I don't have to mess with my firewall I won't complain). The fan barely touches the radiator which means that I will need to make some special brackets to push the thing out a little.

Can anyone tell me the ideal spacing for a fan? I was thinking around 3/4"?

What this also helped me figure out is what size radiator I needed. I could never get a straight answer on what a 30/31 coupe sitting on stick rails with a 32 grille needs for radiator size. Well the answer is around 27.5, which is nearly identical to stock model a.

  15. From there I kind of looked around the garage scratching my head...what now? I hate that feeling.

So I decided to knock out a few small things.

Like the clutch pedal situation. This poor thing has probably been heated up about 3 times now. Looks like I'm in good shape though.

  16. So I think the time has come. I'm honestly running out of stuff to do so what better time to prep the body for removal.

  19. Getting some prep out of the way before some friends come over.
Had to pull the starter and pedals on the banger to get the column out. Just have to cut the sub rails to make way for the kick and it'll be good to go.

Got it on the new chassis. Some very small hiccups so it isn't bolted down just yet (you guessed it...firewall stuff)

Every time I think I am out of the woods on that passenger side cylinder head, I end up needing another 1/8". Going to give it a few more whacks but to be honest I am getting close to just cutting a relief and patching

  27. Well she's mounted now.
