Hey guys, after many years.. I need some info, and most of all pics of chops on a "31 Chevy 5W, I am thinking of 3", so I do not have to sep. chop the rear window, but I am interested how it looks.

See if I can find some.

  5. Take out 2 inches, set the roof back with a couple of tacks. Stand back and admire/assess.

If you like what you see, proceed to finish the job. If not, take out another inch. Repeat until happy!

image.jpg Love your car and the amount of chop on the early version of The Speed Sport coupe (albeit a 32) I think would look great on your car - especially with that 6!!
I'm not sure how much it was chopped but was featured in TRJ awhile back.

Just my opinion, do you want to drive it or look at it?

I can't remember how much @gear jammer 31 coupe is chopped but is such a great car. It was featured in TRJ #66 (I think) and could be another one to research and use as a reference.

Maybe you should select seats, place them inside, sit in them and THEN measure. Nothing says "hilarious", like watching a grown man crawl out of his car.

Chopped my '31 Pontiac 3 inches at the windshield and 2 1/2 inches at the rear window. 20170327_191419.jpg 20170524_191900.jpg

Get a roll of masking tape. Sit in the seat that you are going to use in the car. Put a row of masking tape across windshield at the top. Add another row of tape. Keep on adding tape until it is a pain in the ass to see out of the windshield. Remove the bottom row of tape. Is the view ok? If not remove another row. When satisfied measure the height of the remaining tape.....that is the correct amount to chop it.

Thanks guys for the input, I know the problem sitting in a chopped car, I am well over 6 foot tall, sometimes after a chop I had to chop my seat an extra inch..
