History Need help locating Matt Murphy, last known owner of the original Seaton's Shaker Corvair

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Sailing Now, Jun 27, 2017.

  1. Last I knew he was in GA. He brought the original Corvair to Bowling Green several years ago and later visited me at my home in TX. The phone numbers I have for him are no longer in service. I'd appreciate any info on contacting him. Thanks, Jay Howell

  2. He was cooking in Chicago before he joined the Blues Brothers again.

  8. I'm thinking its Matt Murphy of GMMG. Location: Marietta Georgia.

Also, might put a shout out to the GMMG Registry: http://www.gmmgregistry.com/

A blurb about what Matt intended to do with Seaton's Shaker:

    http://nitromater.com/threads/2008-musclecar-madness-release.5663/

"Another car to make the show will be the Seaton Super Shaker Corvair that was built in 1966 by Jay Howell Automotive in conjunction with Pete Seaton Enterprises as a match race car. The car was driven by Delmar Heinelt and was known as the “Seaton Shaker”. The car will be at the show in its original state and will undergo a complete restoration for the ’08 show by Matt Murphy of Marietta, Georgia."

    ...and that's all I've got.

  9. Ya think?

  10. Delmar drove it first until he and Pete parted company. I built the first supercharged engine for it and drove it to a new track record at Detroit Dragway of 180 MPH in 68 I think. After joining up with the Logghe's I had to quit touring and Terry Hedricks got the ride. Fun days back then!
