I am wiring my car and have a question for you electrical guys. In the past I have run two wires from the "BAT" connection on my voltage regulator (just like the drawing in the Bishop/Tardel book), one to the generator and one to feed the fuse panel. Instead of this, can I run two wires off the "+" side of the ammeter, one to the voltage regulator and one to feed the fuse panel?

does the BAT terminal get connected to the generator, or the battery?

I got my answer on the FordBarn. I am going to connect at the fuse panel. Thanks.

The B or Bat terminal on the regulator should be connected to the positive terminal of the battery (on a negative ground system), maybe thru the ammeter if equipped with one, not to the generator. The A and the F terminals on the regulator go to the generator. But to answer your question, yes you could run a wire from the ammeter to the fuse panel instead of from the B terminal of the regulator. Those 2 points are parallel in the circuit, so it doesn't matter which one you use for a source.
