The story on the 57 convertible cop car.....it was for PR and parades, not for "duty".

Actually I enjoy most pictures that should be (or are) banned from this thread. The German cars from Steffen, the European race cars in the unique series of Rootie....., fifties girls, toys and planes.....
Is there a place where they are banned to? If there is such a place, I will visit that as often as I vist this "Vintage shots of days gone by"...........

1953 CUSTOM IMPERIAL, C-58: Chrysler Corporation's first fully automatic transmission, called PowerFlite, was installed in Imperials beginning in March, 1953. The Crown Imperial had a 12-volt electrical system. Electric seat adjusters could be obtained on sedans, and the one-piece curved windshield returned to vogue.

seconded but as Steffen has shown it is possible to succeed with a spin-off so to maintain purity of this thread as crystal-clarified (american made pre- etc.,) I propose a new thread, called HUAC, maybe ...

Very interesting shot; first time I've seen a '58 Ranch Wagon with a two-tone paint job like that.
