Yes, it's a Biondo. A friend said he had decent luck with one, and my funds are getting LOW.

 

Yeah i will post pics the day i do it. It would have been today, but i was prepping the cage for final welding tonight.

 

Took out the ring gear bolts.
Going with a Pontiac now.

 

Those are probably OK the Jegs brand ones failed on everyone we run with.

 

If it's a Biondo . It will be fine. Did not mean to put a scare into you but I learned my lesson trying to save money on a line lock.

A friend came in and finished TIG welding the cage the other night. Can finally start assembly on the car. Was bending brake lines tonight but no photos , so heres the finished cage. PS sorry the shop is a disaster, im in whirlwind mode lol

Purchased a paint gun from work with the intentions of getting the car into one color. decided to try tinting the windows also

 

Then spent the rest of the day prepping and "painting" the car. Which by the way was supposed to be black...so why is it gray? Ps the wife has decided she loves body work and wants to fix the body and repaint the car lol No joke she really does.

 

Looks like a good color to race all the bugs out and paint this winter if you want to race this season.

 

Im warming up to the color. Cleaned the garage tonight in preparation for assembling the short block tomorrow. In doing so i had to pull the covers off the car just to have a peak.

 

Started engine assembly today. Got the general block prep done and then got the crank in. From there i started to set up the clutch. I figured it would be much easier on the bench then in the car.

 

Hated to do it , but need to make "adjustments" to my bellhousing so i can adjust the clutch.

 

And then after doing that i indicated in the Bellhousing mouth to see if it's concentric to the Crank. I have .006 of runout. so i will have to correct it.

 

I do see your name on the pre entry list!!!!! C'mon man!! YOU CAN DOOOO IT!!!!!

 

If everyone on the planet has to measure the air gap, why don't these come with a hole - or plate to get access?

 

How did that work out. Kid and I want to do the windows in our car. We are thinking tinted plexiglass or lexan. If paint tint looks just as good and is maybe cheaper I'd be willing to give it a try.

There are some out there that do. With us using adjustable clutches it helps to have the access holes. I tried it without, and its alot of extra work

 

Not bad i suck at spraying so mine have stripes, but they look pretty good none the less. I did cheat though. Im not using paint, i have a friend who owns a paint shop, he mixed clear with a paint "tinter" that is transparent. so it made it easier.

 

Does anybody remember the spray on tint that came in spray cans? I did a 55 Belair back in 69 and it came out perfect except for the fly that landed on it and crawled around and died before it dryed.
Bought it at Western Auto. Strawberry red tint on a red and white Belair hardtop with Crager SS mags.

 

Thats what I used....VHT nightshade. Red of course!

 

I did the same years ago. The instructions said, start at the top edge and spray till it runs, then continue feeding the run all the way to the bottom to get even coverage ( smoke tint on my 46 Chevy Coupe, 327 w/4 speed, loved it). Worked good back then. This time thought of trying it out on a piece of scrap first. When I spray tinted my head lights for my Stude Gasser, didn't have to run it down and it covered even. I used Duplicolor Metal-Cast red. Probably the same stuff as Night Shades. Keep up the good work !!

Fancy drill press! I was more like a 1/2 hand drill with a unibit.

 

Duplicolor metalcast paint works good for headlights and windows and is available in a bunch of colors.

 

I used the blue when I built this.
