[QUOTEOur three year old daughter has a goat named Salazar. He jumped up and put his hooves on her shoulders and started to eat her hair. She freaked out- I grabbed him and she ran inside. She later told us that Salazar told her "you're breakfast".... and then proceeded to "trim her hair".

So... in the same spirit- SBC? haha- sounds like Breakfast. :)

Below is my Dad's pet from the early 30's. The little bugger was his pet til it stomped holes in the roof of the Model A, and proceeded to shit thru holes onto front seat. End of pet. Cute little bugger though. Brad dad and goat.jpg

Dude, I am the same way. I build 10 cars per day in my head. The Fly gets 20 different motor builds and I start 10 different companies.

Went to the junkyard today with Maple to gets GM column for the Ranch and stumbled on this! Putting it in the coupe- he threw it in it looked so bad- cleaned up the chrome with tin foil and started to clean up the grip- pretty stoked other than our boat I don't have a wheel like this in anything.

Awesome! You keep it up and and it will be running at the Meltdowns and hopefully I'll get to shake your hand.

You could write a book on how to clean and restore old finishes. Never ceases to amaze me.

The rear fender is great... similar to plans I have for my 29's butt end. Gary

These kinds of builds are why I got into hotrods. Life size hot wheels with a badass history, and looks like an even cooler future!! Looking great Tuck!

Man I can't wait for the day this tale all comes together and I get to see this thing shiny and running in real life.
Till then I'll tap my feet, hope it doesn't start to hurt.

  17. Since Chevy never made a 394 I'm curious what combination of bore and stroke make 394 cubes? Did you start with a 350 or a 400?

Easiest way would be to start with both,
and sell them to help pay for the Olds

Rare 394 Chevrolet engine. The rectangle valve covers give it away.

  20. Might want to check that thread title again. Olds made a 394 ;)

    No Chevy's here!

I can't believe the way the StAr DeStroyer has a way trending itself. But hey, when you got the stuff...

  23. That's a cool looking intake – I like how it's cast to look like a finned valley cover, sort of like a Hilborn unit. Who makes it? I'm buttoning up my 383 stroker and I'd like to run that intake instead of the Edelbrock X1 I've got.

Thanks @D-Russ it has a valley pan- I remember seeing a tunnel ram that had a finned plate that made a small block look like it had a valley pan.

This whole thing had me confused. - just to clarify... this is an Oldsmobile engine, (you guys are savage haha) the 394 was the grand daddy to the 303 and 324.... 371 etc. which you probably already know and maybe just read it wrong...

Its like the 390 Cadillac is to the 331.
its akin to the 394 Hemi that blossomed from the 331...
like peanut butter is to Jelly... wait- no... haha

What I know for sure is that its the end of a radical genetic lineage of engines... which makes it so cool... even cooler to compare to the early 303's... just look at the ports!~ its like holy cow man.

I wish I could be working on this car but I'm on my way to pick up chrome for the roadster... some day I'll be on my way to pick up chrome for the destroyer... I wish I had more money right? and time...

-but to be honest it seems like now days I always feel guilty when I'm in the shop working on my shit anyways because I always feel like I would rather be making tree houses, coloring or painting, digging for worms or pulling wagons full of smiles around. :)

Can't wait to get back on this thing though-

Here is some of my old artwork. God I love engines.
