Sorry guys for the slow updates. Went to cruise week in ocean city md a few weeks back, did an air ride install last week and currently looking for a daily driver so progress has been slow

Managed to get the gas tank back in, gas door has new rubber bumpers, carb rebuilt, new door handles on and rebuilding the vent windows with new rubber. The regulators in this car are a pain in the ass lol

Heres a shot of sediment in the float bowl

    IMG_2581.JPG

    New fuel pump installed

    IMG_2590.JPG

Bent up some niccop line to the carb

The vent rubber was shot. Taking these out sucks lol

Finish welded the grille today finally. Tig'd and metal finished and sanded to 220. Need to drop back to 120 to take out a few more small low spots then polish it up. Hand filed it to get the peak looking decent

Not a ton of progress with the holiday this weekend. Did manage to get the old windshield pulled and theres no rust in the windshield frame area which is good. Got a new seal and glass ready to go in. Also got the dash two tone finished up, satin brown top with the white bottom

    Thanks for the kind words....

Some updates. Pass side window is in and working great. Also lubed up the rear regulators and all is smooth. When i pulled the drivers side vent window to redo the rubber seal, the vent window cracked. New glass is cheap at only $28 but the lower pivot stem broke off. Should i try my luck with a strong epoxy? The pivot shaft rotates up into place inside the frame of the vent window, with a solid 2 part epoxy i think itd be more than strong enough. The frame is in great shape otherwise and id rather not drop $120 on a new frame if i dont have to

Other updates, i pinstriped the dash, turned out decent. Some white and dark brown with just a touch of gold

    IMG_2813.JPG IMG_2815.JPG IMG_2816.JPG IMG_2817.JPG IMG_2818.JPG

Freshened up the speedo, satin black paint on the inner base, repainted the exterior and put a gold tip on the needle

    IMG_2820.JPG IMG_2822.JPG IMG_2824.JPG

Also my paint was chipping and scratched all around the windshield and it looked like someone may have just sprayed paint over the gasket half assed, so after i pulled the old glass i sanded and feathered out all the scratches and chips and shot some paint just to prevent corrosion. The colors not perfect but im planning on getting a rattle can of colormatched paint from a local shop that has a paint reader/decoder, then ill just spray it later on. The paint on this car has seen way better days, but its a driver so whatever

    Dash is looking fantastic !
I have a question about your sway bar bushings. Did you replace them and if so did you have to put a slice in the new ones to get them on? I don't see how new ones will slide over the ends?

Dash wasnt bad, 6 or 7 small screws at the base of the windshield and two big bolts on the bottom corner

Appreciate it guys, cool to see that people enjoy these builds. I do some occasional side work but never interior. I hate doing interiors hahaha. I order all the stuff from ezboy, now owned by lebarron bonney
