A 13-second race was actually the sweetest race I ever won,Jackson.:)
It's near the end of the 2014 Meltdown dvd.Lakeshore Shaker vs that lougan Moonrocket...lol
After all his big talk about how his "12 second car" was gonna steamroll my poor little Ford.
Not only did he red light while trying to get out on me,but I had a fender on him before I pulled 2nd,and beat him by a couple bus lengths at the stripe, with a 13.36 to his 13.90....That was a good time.
I've got more awesome Meltdown stories than I can list here....:)

I guess it's working right again. This is about as quick as it will run in the thin Tucson air.

i just love hearing it! loading up the race car either early in the morning or late at night while it's dead silent! we haven't gotten any complaints yet either.

So drilled out the solenoid. And found this.... you can see on the I side the lug was turned so when power was applied it in a sense welded its self to the contact supplying power to the I side full time. Now we know why I wouldn't shut off with the key until I un hooked the brown wire off the I terminal.

  12. Good job - bet you feel better knowing exactly what the cause was now, instead of throwing parts at it till it finally works right... plus now you know how to prevent it from happening again ;)

IT IS ALIVE!!! "We can rebuild it to make it fast and better." Is your tach working was on 1000 in every shot? How good does it charge with that large pulley?

The tach is a little wonky but I don't pay much attention to it anyway.
I thought the large pulley on the generator would help keep the lead in it.

Not sure I want to put the new intake on this engine or how much more I want to push this one.
I have a good idea that the stock rods have a life span and something tells me I am gettin close to it.
And as far as runnin you again.....well now that I got you on the right track I will just have to bow down to you as we all know this ol heavy chevy shouldn't outrun your digger. But it sure was fun when it would.
I had high hopes to have a little more for you guys this year but guess it just wasn't in the cards.

    James:
Last night was supposed to be the night we got it finished up so I could fire it this morning, but things didn't go quite as planned.
I got out there real late,we were totally occupied by wiring issues, and rebuilding my trailer,so the car never got fired this morning.
I did put a gopro camera mount on the roll bar though...So as soon as it's fired,I will get a little teaser video on here for you guys.
On a side note,a local guy decided to get a belly full of beers and try to be a hero in his 69 Camaro a few hundred yards down the road from my Dad's place the other day.
Guy is 37,has owned the car since he was 16,this is the second time he's wrecked it while drunk.
The first time he just bent a bunch of shit up when he hit a pole at low speed.
This time he was nearly killed when he skipped it through a ditch and into a farmer's field.
    Car was a legit RS/SS 4-spd car too.What a jackass.

    Scott

Scott I was going to start mine Saturday night after the long day.....but when I was checking for spark at the coil wire at the end of the coil wire from the dist cap to ground rather than from the coil to ground I thought maybe I had been at it to long.
