There's a group heading over from the Hamilton Hot Rod Club. Will be great
I'm not going this time but they will have a ball
Half of them are continuing to back to the 50's

Upon your arrival in Southern California there are a number of places to visit. They are:

Donut Derelicts Car Show, Huntington Beach, CA. Corner of Adams and Magnolia. Every Saturday morning from 5:30am-8:30am. Best FREE car show on the West coast. 250 vintage cars and trucks every Saturday morning. Trust me, it's worth your time to see this car show.

NHRA Drag Racing Museum, Los Angeles County Fairplex. 1101 West McKinley Ave. Pomona, CA. More than just drag racing, this is an excellent museum.

Automobile Driving Museum. 610 Lairport St. El Segundo, CA. 90245. Don't be put off by the funny street name or the plain drab brick facade. This is a great museum that is non-profit. They ask for a modest $5.00 donation. It's worth it.

Peterson Museum. 6060 Wilshire Blvd. Outstanding Dan Gurney race car exhibit. $15 entry plus $12 parking.

Irwindale Speedway. 500 Speedway Drive. Irwindale, CA. 91706. Freeway off ramp is Live Oak Ave. Every 2-weeks on Saturday night there is NASCAR short track racing with 5 different divisions on the paved ½ mile and 1/3 mile track. On-track autograph session and freebies at 5:45PM, racing at 7:00PM. Great entertainment. $15.00 plus $5.00 parking.

Also, NHRA drag racing every Thursday night on the 1/8 mile track, starting at 5:00PM until 10:00PM. $10.00 to watch and FREE parking.

More NHRA drag racing every Friday. Same info as above.

In-N-Out Hamburger. Mighty tasty burgers, fries, and shakes.

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. Get the warm glazed doughnuts and bring plenty of cold milk. It's a great experience!

  10. Thanks for this - appreciate you messaging. This is not a first time trip for me. I once worked and lived in LA.

BT, who put the club trip together is almost a local Pete also has many California trips under his belt. Between them they have put together a magical tour
Some of the guys are repeat offenders and a few are California virgins They are going to soak it up

  21. Saturday at the Roadster Show - Roadsters attending were way down as were specialty cars. Seems that lots of people don't like change and don't want to accept there are more event costs which need to be met when John Buck has to hire people to run it. That all said though I heard there weren't enough people on the gates or sometimes not at all so I'm not certain he hired enough people. To me the vendor hall and the swapmeet also appeared down. Probably the worst thing which I believe kept a lot of people at home is how after 30 plus years relationship they side stepped the T-shirt and merchandise supplier. In regards to the entry fee it was $50 per roadster which you got a mug and two people into the show and they gave you a Saturday night BBQ but because it's always been free a lot of people left their roadsters at home. But we enjoyed it for what it was and enjoyed seeing friends again. If Roy and Sid and the few Bay Area guys and Brizio customers didn't display there the show would have been really quiet! I and others talked a lot about it and it's hoped it's a case of growing pains and with a few things ironed out perhaps it can get back to something better than it was this year.

A highlight for me was buying the Isky book at the Rodders Journal booth as Isky walked by so I asked him to autograph it - a lovely man

Thanks Greg for sharing your trip. I am one of the many that don't take to change well and stayed home with my roadster. I figured give John Buck time to figure things out and myself a break from the 8-10 days on the road and 2600 mile trip to see if I will make the event again.
