Build up for the Pebble Beach Hot Rod auction in 2018. Lotto sales are going to start seeing an increase in sales. Bob
What are we looking at? Did Isky take a '32 spindle and cut the steering off the top and weld it on the bottom? There is a back up plate welded to both arms, just never saw this setup before. Car looked great in East Coast sun. Bob
Hilligus Sprint car built a bit wider so an ARDUN would fit in it. I bought the NOS spare set of heads for this car back in 1978, sold them to pay the plumber when we built our house. Good deal then and now thousands of flushes & showers later. Bob
An L29 CORD front wheel drive cabriolet from 1932. My Grandfather was a chauffeur and the boss' son was a few years older than my Dad and had a twin to this car. Dad was asked to drive it from New York City to the summer place in Connecticut when he was 15 years old. No drivers license, no problem! It got turned in on a brand new 1933 Ford Cabriolet. Bob
Great pictures! Thanks for posting! I see Ken Gross, Rick Doer, Wayne Carini were in attendance, did you notice a blue/ Black Bugatti roadster? A friend of mine displayed it in the Concours. Did someone mention that Pebble Beach will host a hot rod class in 2018?
I have a video of the isky roadster pulling up into display circle and Wayne talking about it but not sure I can upload it. Any ideas how to share it?
You'll have to upload it to YouTube or similar and link it here (preferably embedded) with that little filmstrip icon above.
The original owner of this Rolls - Royce was an engineer working in Alaska. He rigged up a thermometer to a self starting setup to keep it from freezing. Bob
I always loved the story of the Isky roadster being denied entry to a car show in Calif. because it didn't meet the fit and finish requirements.
