So i have a 49-53 Merc and i bought the speedway adaptor to marry it to a muncie. I have the 10.5 inch Gm clutch on the flywheel.. What clutch fork and throwout bearing is everyone using? Is there any modifications to be made.

Have to ask.. there is very little flathead action around here.

    Thanks in advance

What kind of a car is it going into? Makes a big difference.

Unless you're doing something really different, Speedway says : "Permits use of your Ford clutch release shaft, fork and throwout bearing. Throwout bearing must be used with a Long-style pressure plate. Adapter kit includes pilot bushing."

Hmmm. At second thought, the GM clutch complicates things,

Not the way I would have done it, so I really don't know what to tell ya'. Sorry.

Just curious; did you do it this way because you are using suspended pedals?

I have a vintage Offy bell housing that uses the Chevy fork. The thing is partially installed in a project of mine, and hopefully I'll get back to it in a couple years. But I'm going to switch out the bell housing for one of the Offys that uses the old Ford shaft and fork. It will be lots easier to put together a combo of disk and bearing that works easily.

Can you return yours and get the other version?
