Getting my 354 Hemi back from the machine shop next week, got everything here to build a blown motor except for the spark plugs.Just wondering what other people are running?
Although not a blown 354, my dual quad 392 with 10.5to1 compression runs very well on Autolite 65 plugs! Autolite is still a quality plug and the right heat range for my Hemi. Some guys run Champion plugs, like some guys use Fram oil filters, as for me I wouldn't use either. Just my $.02. KK
I prefer NGK plugs, very high quality at an affordable price. For the street I'd reccommend the 'projected' tip, it works better with the alcohol laced fuel, try an NGK FR5, stock# 7373, its' in the moderate heat range.
Too many questions-- street or race type of fuel gas alc nitro injection or carb spark type magneto or standard ign
Agree. I run a blown wedge mopar. # 9 NGK. Easier to read because of the cadium coating. With a hot ignition (mag or MSD) and running methanol it will like a cold plug especially on the track. Maybe not so cold on the street with gas. My .02 Dave
I ran NGK B9ES, and Autolite 4052, blown early Hemi on alcohol. The NGK's were easier to read, because of the plating would burn.
I run the b9es for nitro. its a hot plug for nitro. the ground strap burns off shutting down that cylinder before it burns a piston. its a good plug to use on a new setup as the tune is figured out. I ran them in a late model bae hemi also.
392 blown, 7 lbs boost, 4-port Hilborn, 1/2 110 octane and 1/2 premium and Autolite 65's, they work for me.
Autolite plugs are a good plug. There affordable to the point that when your tuning and racing, that you can replace them every pace. Read them and replace them. I help with a pulling tractor and every start up they were replaced.
