It's like Christmas in reverse instead of removing the wrapping you are slowly putting it back on :)

[IMG][IMG]Fun day in my sign business today. Our local school brought a first grade class in for a tour of my shop to learn about signs, graphics and gasser classes of the mid to late 60's. gotta start them young.

  11. That's great! I take my 33 Chevy over to my daughter's school every year so her class can learn a little bit about old cars. The kids always have great questions and everyone of them gets to sit in the car. They all look very interested in what they were learning about the Fiat :D It's great you took the time to do that!

Last week we took my Dad's Opel GT drag car to another local school for a transportation day. Little kids love these old cars.

Well, things didn't go well with wiring on the Fiat. Had it all wired except for directional's and lights. Went to start the car and no spark out of the msd to the distributor. After testing the msd it was found to be faulty. Boxed it up and sent back to MSD to get repaired. I pulled a got lead off the ignition side of the box and I feel it may have blew an internal fuse in the box. Hopefully easy fix. The hot lead was to my Guage cluster for power. Apparently I should not have done that.

Just called MSD and they informed me there is nothing wrong with the MSD box. I tested the box on the phone with a technician from MSD. They determines the box was faulty and that I needed to send it back to be serviced. I even took it to a local speed shop who has a MSD machine for testing boxes. He also determined the box was faulty. So now I am scratching my head. MSD said they ran the box for 8 hours and it never skipped a beat. I will have it back on Tuesday and have to start troubleshooting again.

[IMG][IMG] made new inner door panels the other day. Wanted them to have a tuck and roll look without the cost of upholstery. I used .050 gloss black aluminum and bead rolled a border and vertical lines to give it the tuck and roll appearance.

  18. Very nice touch on the door panels. Glad you resisted the idea of 'graphics' that's more commonly seen.

[IMG][IMG] well, I think I figured out my electrical gremlin. Like I said, the MSD box came back with nothing wrong, so I started checking things out and found that the coil wire to the distributor did not have continuity when I tested it. So I did a quick sign job for the local speed shop in exchange for a new msd wire kit. Had to cut and crimp wires to legnth, but all went well. And with the new coil wire we have lots of spark. Might be able to fire it up this weekend

Glad to hear it was something fairly simple, but it's never simple to find it.
P.S. Thanks again for the door handles. Hope you got the card. John
