You did a good job, those sagging door handles are tough to fix, a brass part inside of the latch wears out, fixable but a good amount of work. Keep up the good work.

Love the chop, the spots look like you're trying too hard, interrupts the beautiful lines that you created.

The spots were originally on the car and in good condition, so we opted to keep them. Installed by the original owner. Cool little history the car had

  9. So in the end you wound up making all new sail panels, it looks very good, nice and smooth almost Fleetline like with a low windshield height. I like that you retained the belt molding around the roof. I have been struggling on where to do a roof color cut off on my '47 coupe and where you did it on the reveal under the wiper towers is what I was thinking of myself and it looks good, now I know where to do mine. Do you have a slightly lower shot like the one with the spotlight that shows how you did the color change at the edge of the cowl/A pillar?

No criticism of the work or the finished product!!! but, when I was looking at the lines in this car, especially after looking at the photo you have of the center brace in the back window as it was getting welded in; it may have been the angle of the car but I thought a pair of those rear quarter windows might have looked nice put in place of the original square window? Something about the slant of the car body and the arc of the windows made me wonder what that might have looked like.

  11. Beautiful chop! Those cars look horrible if the chop is done wrong. You freaking nailed it!

Funny, this was a topic of debate. Everyone including myself liked the split rear window look. Just didn't have access to a Ford style one or we would of done it. Thanks!

Thanks for that. It's just a thought that crossed my mind while looking at the photos. I think though, it would have needed to have been an oval split window, even though, as I said, looking at the rear quarter window is what cause that to pop into my mind as a what if? Did you guys get to the actual point, when you had the window shape welded in, of considering trying different shaped openings using cardboard templates to overlay the opening, or you were just discussing options?

Never really considered changing the rear window untill we saw the bracing welded in. We can always go back and weld one in. The quarter windows were just a natural transformation with the flow of the chop. I still have the template so I could mirror them for rear windows at some point if needed

Do you have more pics from your cuts? Where you cut to chop?

Hope this helps Kia, this is just after chopping and getting the flow right. I took 4" out of the A pillar and set the back where I thought it looked the best
