The vision and execution is amazing. All of the considerations and recommendations for color and you nailed that as well. Your car is truly a work of art and your build documentation is the icing on the cake.

They don't get much nicer than that! You guys did a great job Don.
I hope it makes it to the East coast sometime I would like to see it in person.

  5. Tony are you bringing it to Del Mar????

  6. Yowza; I'm in love with the "slender" curves of THIS '40!!
(And the Merc caps really top it off.....)

  7. Yes, Fuzzy, Don is delivering it to Tony at Del Mar.

He doesn't get to keep it yet. I still have a few details to attend to.

  10. The concept of this car is awesome. That Don was able to make it 100% to the original concept is a monument to his abilities. Outstanding job both of you! 3 more days until I put eyes on it.

Thanks again for all the kind comment. I've entered the car for the WCK event in Santa Maria on the Memorial Day weekend starting May 26.

I will be honest, it would have to be a real nice/diff. '32 or '40 Ford for me to walk across the street to admire so to speak. Guess I am getting kinda bored with the proliferation is all but if this '40 Custom was ever within my area I would have to make the effort to see it in person. Really, really a nice execution of talent, makes me feel like I did when I was a kid in my teens reading the latest, greatest custom magazine of the month. Like Linda Vaughn this custom will stand out in a crowd for a long time! JMO of course.....................

I didn't see this latest update, but I searched it out to see how the project is coming along. This car is amazing! Congratulations to Tony, Don, and everyone else involved in this superb '40. This is one of my favorite Hamb builds, thanks for sharing with us!

We're still working out a few driveability bugs. I'll be cruising it around the next week and making some adjustments wherever needed then, next weekend I'll drive it to Santa Maria for the WCK event and Tony will drive it home from there.

Now that the prototype is complete and the bugs are being worked out, when will the production car ready for market. I want one, this is one beautiful car that needs nothing else to be perfect. Enjoy it as anyone that sees it will.
Thanks for the detailed build thread really enjoyed it.

As advertised, Don drove the '40 from Tulare to Santa Maria on Friday. IMG_0592.jpg
That's Don's coupe behind my car.

Today we collected an award titled "Top Five Wildest Kustom". And then I drove it home to San Pedro! Yaaay!
Sincerest thanks to Don and his guys for the last eight years of toil!

Awesome custom, like makeup on a beautiful woman the changes enhance the beauty of the 40, not gaudy changes just to make it look different than the original!
