Bringing my 19 year old son for his first Showdown. He's been to Jalopyrama and several car shows at Latimer Valley, but now he gets to see why the track was built. Not sure we've ever been there when it was completely dry- that should be unique. Leaving the parts home this trip but if anyone needs sheetmetal for a '41-'46 Chevy truck holler at me before Saturday morning.

 

Doing some final touches and having a beer in this heat here in pa... seemed like a good nite photo opp... finally going to have some good weather for the showdown, can't wait....

I'll be there, taking lots of photos, but I may not have time to post many for a while, as I'm settling on a new house 4 days later and might be a bit busy. If any of you vendors has a pair of headlights from a '37 Chevy, or from some other late 30s car, similar in shape, I'm looking for a pair ( or 3, if they have a recessed area around the mount that would have to be patched) in fair or better condition. preferably complete. If you've got them, look for a tall guy with glasses and a mustache.

 

I'll be in the swap meet and have the 48 Ford...Hell you may even see me on the track.

 

I'm driving my '31 Roadster and a friend wants to bring my '30 RPU . Three other guys running along with us , '27 T Roadster, '31 Sedan, '27 Bucket . should look cool going down the highway. Can't wait till Saturday Morning.

 

Poprivit - That quintet is gonna be a blast taking Route 77 across the mountain! Good times.

 

Cleaned, packed up, and hitting the road in an hour. Can't wait!

Don - Thank you for keeping me in the loop! We will meet up next time! Married to a younger woman, she ran a 1/2 marathon on Maryland's Eastern Shore this morning. So then the ride back home to leap in the Chevy. Spotted a friend Jeff''s red '57 ragtop on Rt 15 as we were finally getting there around 2:30. Showed up in time to witness the last motorcycle going through the flamed wall. Infield closed at that point. Damn we missed a good show.
Ron - Great to meet you and your group! Next year we'll be there with you all.
Everyone - hope youre having a safe ride home.
Especially SCARY LARRY & STAFF - Thanks for all you do!

 

Rained here most of the day, so I could not unleash the coupe. Hope everybody had a blast and look forward to pics. Have a safe trip home guys, be careful.

Another great show, Thanks Larry. I was not able to get my car there but had a good time none the less. Will post a few pics soon.
