Hot Rods Bought a model A roadster for 25.00 yesterday

  1. That old saying "good things come to those who wait"

  2. I'm not sure what my plans are for it. I've been out of the "A" game for a few years. If my budget allows, I'd really like to do a late 50's drag version of an A roadster

Wow, great score. I went to an auction recently and wrote a post about it, it pays to stay until the end, the easy money gets spent early and the bullshitters clear out in the early afternoon, then it's time for bargains.

  11. yep...way to hang in there....sadly the owner could have got more if he'd only turned lose.....bitch about those A trucks....

You a lucky guy. I think here the bidders would be like flies on a manure wagon!

Damn dude! that's amazing!....would you take $50? that's pure profit

  17. I kind of figure this car is a 2-3K car with the extra cowl I bought. I tried buying this car about 10 years ago and probably would have paid that. There was a little nicer, more complete 29 roadster but no title that sold at the same auction for 5200.00

  18. Congrats! A great deal. I sure your still smiling. I found one like it in a woods a few years ago. But it still had the gas tank, and didn't have the door damage. The guy said he would like a $1000. for it. I didn't even ask if he would take any less. lol A great buy. I love the hunt. And I'm like you, I would have camped out there till it was sold too. Ron...

Why does it always seem like the great finds are always on the other side of the country? If you did find anything like that around here, it'd be about as solid as tinfoil, and they would want $10,000 for it since they saw one just like it sell on TV for that price!

Great score! Those AA trucks would have been nice to have, too.

That'd be the ones. I wish you hadn't told me that :(

  27. That's a score. Little kids usually go for a lot more around here.

Then again, like Model As, they start off cheap and get expensive in a hurry.

Man that is awesome! Good for you......don't think I could wipe the smile from my face after buying all that for that price!

  30. I've been watching you for years, Chris and seen you get some killer deals but now you're just showing off....you're starting to piss me off, man! $128 for all that cool model A stuff? DAMN! You are on your way to a great a-V/8 or a nice banger powered roaster. I'm happy for you. Keep us informed of progress......
I once was the only bidder on a solid but incomplete Jeep pickup for $50 at a farm sale locally. It's dark blue now with a 455 Buick motor and drivetrain and lives in Michigan.
    Great buy, Chris. jpfront3-4small.jpg
