Still needs license plates but otherwise the '58 Impala ragtop is finally done. Started working on it in 2011! Built from an original 1958 SMP 3-in-1 Customizing Kit.

Nice work as usual Froghawk! You've got killer paintjobs down pat! Do you use frisket paper or BMF to mask your designs?

There's gotta be more progress out there this week! I've got a pile of parts, Kustoms seem to take a bit longer, so I thought I'd build the A roadster on deuce rails. It's a neat kit, just wish it had a chrome banjo rear or quickchange. I'll have to check the parts box. 1492398730566660572324.jpg

  6. '25 Ford Coupe from the double T kit.
Cut the roof and visor off.
Decided to add some kind of wood frame to the bare interior.
I also changed up the rear window opening.
The new roof opening got a framework to hold "chicken wire".
The screen is an RF shield on some cable from work.
    (Electronic/Electrical Tech)
    The trunk is next.
    Have an awesome Sunday, Y'all.

In the works, this old MPC 56/57 Corvette kit I found recently at a thrift store for $5.00. Unbuilt,
unpainted, unmolested and best of all, complete.

Hey, model builders, post something today, even old cars that are far from perfect.
I might get an idea or two.

    Kool 'vette, edcodesign.

Ok, you asked for it. My 1/8th RM Deuce build is from way back in 2005. Here are some construction shots, from the make-shift frame table to paint and a diorama. These pix are old and from a very low quality digital camera. The Y-block is from a Lindberg T, seats from a RM XKE kit. A small chop on the top. Suicide front end and Z-d frame over the diff. I have a bunch of 1/8th kits stashed away, mostly destined to be rails, gassers, altereds and the occasional dirt car. Who know when I'll get back to them.... so little time. Gary

Sure, why not. Trouble is, there aren't a lot of kit bodies to choose from, and not much in resin. BTW, there is a 1/8th / large scale thread here and a couple three web sites out there. But I haven't been on the web sites lately. Check that out. Gary

That '55 has a very kool look. That heavy flake takes me back to the late '60s.

  25. A 'lil update on my '25 Ford Coupe project.
    Chassis work...
Shorten the rear trailing arms and add a small tube joint.
Cut out the rear spring perch to lower is some in the rear.
Dropped the suicide spring perch on the front a sconch (technical term).
Modified the front hairpins and made some teardrop attachments. Thinned down the Buick finned drums.
    Yada Yada Yada. . .
Nailhead engine from the '40 Ford delivery is next on the work pile.

  26. Here's a mockup of one I'm working on. It's a resin 2 door post body from Drag City casting. Narrow whitewalls and chrome wheels. Floorpan has been painted proposed body color of Honduras Maroon.

Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw your Fiat "Walt's Puffer" altered! I saw this car in person at the drags in Toledo, Ohio at the old municipal airport back in about '61. What scale is yours & who makes it?
    Nice job!

Thanks very much, I appreciate it. It's half of AMT's double dragster kit, 1/25th I imagine. It was
actually the Blueprinter special from the early to mid '90s.
