IMO...
WD 37 .... at the wiring party maybe run an extra, fused, [isolated] 12v on or acc wire all the way out to the front... another one to the rear... tape them off and mark them...
if you start blowing fuses or tripping your circuit breaker... you will have an isolated wire for a head or tail light, fan or distributer so you can tap into them to get home...
find the prob later...

The weekend went pretty well. . . Got an ignition wired. My brother Scott the master electrician had it whipped up in no time. The brake line was another story. The wheel cylinders need 7/16 male fitting for the brake line and no oarts stores carry that so my brother Robert mounted the 't' in the back and drilled holes for the line hold downs. I put the rotating assembly back together

Got out of work a little early today so I torqued and pinned the rods, installed the oil pump cam gear, and water pumps.

I forgot I don't have a throwout bearing. Getting one after work today then I can slam the motor in for the last time. With any luck we will hear this very soon!

Thanx for the support, I have been busting ass. I think I have everything. . . Until I need something! This time it's an oil pump screen. Engine install put off until tomorrow AGAIN!
But it is looking good at least. Ben, here are some pics of the pedal assembly. The arms look really close in the pics but there is plenty of room.

Didn't get much sleep last nite. . . . Too excited! I am going to toot my own horn now: just over 3 years ago I swapped some ralley wheels&tires plus a little cash for a model a frame from Mike Bowling. I had my families old trailer with a 40ish banjo rear under it. From there I just started collecting model a parts, swapping, selling, borrowing, and yes, stealing. Now this 'thing' runs. Pretty cool.

Great job - you pretty much did it. Your story is similar to mine. I started with a set of big n little Cragars with tires and through a series of trades i'm up to a Model A frame, 283 motor, T5, Buick rear end, rims, a bunch of sheet metal (some assembly required) and a handful of other parts. A little more trading and some spare time may see me with a Model A yet. Keep on pushing - you're almost there!

I love that Hot Rod Red.

 

I was torn. I didn't want to paint it because it had some neat patina (especially the doors) but a racecar has to be flashy. I was accepted to participate in the race of gentlemen in New Jersey! So it needs to look fast too
