Haven't seen a vid on this setup so I figured I'd stutter through one. Here's my progress. Full disclosure I'm a pretty green at this so be gentle. I'll be adding updates as I go so feel free to critique.

Looks like you're off to a great start. There's quite a bit of info/pics if you just google "Gambino notch" and I've always heard Alex is really good about product support for customers. Looking forward to more!

Alex is a good guy. I recently purchased a Fatman MII frame clip through him and he was very easy to work with, made sure I got what I needed.

A little closer, got rid of the perches. [IMG]

My buddy canceled on me so I pondered a while how I was gonna go from A to B.

Here's where it really got stupid. Got it in place thanks to all the crap I could find and a lot of zip ties...

She's tacked in and holding. I left the super zip ties just in case. Ha

Got the 1st part of the C notch in. I used 3/4" sq tubing to space the top. Next step get the 4 link on and finish the C. Oh did I mention I double checked myself about 100 times. Hopefully I'm squared up.

035 says the gorilla... I'm waiting on my buddy to hold my hand on the welding. That's why the top plate Of the notch is not on.

  10. That's what I thought. That's a big Miller welder ...210-230, something like that?
Too big for that job. Hard to get a nice looking weld...in MY opinion.

Is an old 200 Miller. Old faithful. I'm doing things backwards. I'm practicing after I already started

you need to stop and learn how to weld better. this does not look good at all.

  17. Better keep buyin' the beer for your buddy. See, on that frame bracket stub. I'd put the tacks on the corners, then weld from tack to tack, then tuck the wire up under the end of the bead ,and do the vertical next. It will look a lot nicer that way.

Coming along nicely, could I suggest gussets on the lower frame brackets as the Chevy is only top-hat style frame. A bit more strength will stabilize it better and deal with it being loaded and unloaded as you drive and corner.
Also how much thread have you got inside the 4-bar tubes, it looks like adjustable ends are screwed almost out? The ends need to be screwed in 3/4 of their threaded length. That way you leave room for adjustment.

I agree with mgtstumpy; those lower 4-link brackets on the frame need a gusset going forward towards the motor at the minimum. Under acceleration, the axle will try to rotate counter-clockwise (as view from the passenger side of the car), so the lower link will try to push forward/up. The metal on the top hat style frame is pretty thin and I wouldn't trust it the way you have it now.

Better yet would be to connect the two mount brackets together to form a cross member. You'll have to figure out a drive shaft loop in the middle, but it would be WAY stronger.

Looks like you need to speed up your pace, or turn down the wire speed, and clean all that you are Welding to new steel. Looks like you are dragging , you should try pushing.

Thx. Got some gussets, just didn't put them on. Guess I need to. The threads are half way so I could adjust each way as needed

I thought about that. I haven't seen any pic on the web like that for the gambino but I was thinking that would be stronger.

Thx. It's been a learning experience. The better welds are my buddies. I get credit for the crap.
