Billy "the kid" Scott ...early drag racer and Indy car driver.. from NSSN : Billy Scott INDIANAPOLIS — Billy Scott, who competed in four USAC national championship races, including the 1976 Indianapolis 500, died April 28. He was 68. Nicknamed “Billy the Kid,” Scott began driving quarter-midgets as a 5-year-old in San Bernardino, California, and he was later the first 16-year-old ever to record a top-end speed of 200 mph in an NHRA Top Fuel dragster, doing so on the very day he became eligible to hold a Top Fuel license, his 16th birthday.
Billy when he was really a kid. He is in my Kurtis 1/4 Midget in 1961 after dad sold it to Scotty. He drove this until he started driving Scotty's blown Chevy dragster.
Billy drove the "Beacon Auto Parts" AA/D for Gene Adams. That's him sitting on the push truck. RIP Billy.
