Features The MorDor Thread: Let's see those Spare Door Hotrods/ Customs

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Schwanke Engines, Apr 7, 2017.

  1. That thing's way too nice to go on a date with a sawzall. Let someone mangle some clapped out Chevy if they care that much about 2 extra doors, ( people that would do a 2 door conversion kinda baffle me, it's kinda like the penile enlargement surgery or Viagra of the car world. My crummy 4 door would satisfy their wives anytime )

    That car is sweet, brother.

To be honest, the Galaxie and the 50-53 Chevy looks better with 4 doors. Something plain brown boondocker about those two cars as sedans.

Was given this. Has sat since 1982. It's in really good condition despite having sat beside the garage all that time. IMG_20170403_135540585.jpg IMG_20170403_135557995.jpg
And with a new tire. Going to put all new tires on it for safety and attitude.

  9. I recently overheard a comment as the guy was looking at my mordor that he would rather not have a old car if he had to drive a 4 door,I walked up behind him and ask him what he was driving and he said he was in his daily driver, turns out he doesn't have a old car unless you consider his 4 door Honda a old car.

If this thread doesn't make you rethink your objection to four doors you have a serious problem, there are some killer cars posted in this thread. HRP

  11. He seemed nonchalant and totally oblivious to hot rods & customs,I think he and his female companion just happened up on the cruise in and stopped to look gawk and for him to impress his sweetie with his wealth of knowledge,I believe I peed in his pool! :D HRP

  12. It probably also made him pee his pants when a bearded 6 foot plus giant asked him that!

1962 Rambler Classic 400 4 door with a 343 V8, 4-speed, posi and suspension from a 196_ AMC OT ride. Ugliest car I've ever owned, but IMHO one of the coolest.

It's because it's not a Bel Air. Your accustom to seeing a full stainless panel on the C post rather than it being painted. That 210 got me to thinking. Get a pair of 2 door front doors, move the B post back and shorten the back door's. But !, it may end up looking worse than the idea seems.

This one is killer. It looks a lot like a 63 Nova. Which I want to do a 4 door version of in the worst way.

  18. Can't say that I love 4 door rods or customs, but every once in awhile one comes along that is a real temptress..............kinda like that chubby chick you once lusted after with the "great personality".

My first too-many door was the first '36 Ford I had way back in the late '60s. Looked like it had been mildly rodded in the '50s; maroon repaint, plaid vinyl Pep Boys seat covers, mild 59ab with two twos and dual exhaust, hydraulic brake conversion. It was a touring sedan, which, for those not familiar with Ford nomenclature of the time, meant it had the trunk hanging out back.............hmmm, there's that chubby chick image again.

Anyway, a few years ago the next 4 door popped up in an ad here on the HAMB. The more I looked at the pics, the more that damn girl kept tempting me. Sort of a Deja vu thing, warmed 59ab, nice interior, dual exhaust, repainted back when 004 (4).JPG , but looking a bit rough anyway. Took a trip down to LARS and brought her home. Cleaned her up a bit, tweaked a little to my tastes and then just drove her. The good thing about a less desirable car like this is the freedom it gives you to park it and walk away without stressing if someone will get rude with her.

I've had my 52 Pontiac 4 door for 13 years.. I got it when I was 17. This picture is a few years old, the man in the picture owns an old service station and museum near Charleston, WV.

My current project - 49 Hudson. In my opinion one of the best looking from factory four doors ever made.
It will have bagged with a worked 401 Nailhead, 50 Buick grille and more.

That 52 Buick is spot on, I have wanted to build an Inline 8 Buick for so damn long I love the way they look and prefer 4 Door. The 48 Sedanette's are sweet also.
