This year at the Stray Kat 500, we will honor Early Rods of Tulsa's 50th anniversary. They hosted the first car show that I participated back in 1981. I drove my 1957 Nomad and when I got to the show I was introduced to the pre 48 rule. They explained to me that my car didn't fit the Rod runs guidelines. I was dumb founded and being only eighteen they realized that I hadn't a clue. Instead of running me off, they let me enter the show and I had a blast. It was a very Kool and it was the right thing to do. We had a blast and have always leaned towards Rod Run shows. I would like to thank the Early Rods of Tulsa for teaching me it's not about the cars it's about the people.

 

Were leaving here Wednesday, wanna be there for the "MOVIE" and Munchies on Thursday, back roads only, no Freeway for us. Looking forward to this!!

Just got a room at Holiday Inn. They gave us a Car Show rate of $50 off. Thanks Mick, looking forward to a great weekend!

Bringin this back up since it is THIS weekend and the weather is looking great! A few of us are headed up tomorrow and a few more coming up Friday morning. Ready for another damn good time as usual!

So disappointed I can't make the show again this year. Im looking forward to seeing everyones pictures!

We are heading out in the morning. Unfortunately without the '56. It's having fuel delivery problems, and not enough time to fix it. Oh well, we will still attend and have a blast!

We stayed at Price Tower and I gotta say that it was super kool and if you remotely like architecture, you gotta check this place out, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.
Woke up to the sunrise through all the windows in the room.
I guess Duke just slept downtown so he wouldn't miss anything! LoL!

Don't know anything about this Chevy other than it was super kool with some awesome pen work!

 

Gawd, Elden was the best. What new stuff would he have dreamed up by now?

 

The 61 Chevy is owned by Alan Childers. He works at Steve Cook Creations in OKC. And, thanks for posting pics Jimmy!

I thought that I was at the show this year. I'm seeing a lot of Kool Rides that I didn't see. Thanks for posting the kool pics
