I just had it together for mockup. It's already dismantled again and in the sandblast cabinet.
    I do appreciate it btw.

So last night I got to work on my pedals ... I decided to take a stab at sandblasting them first.
Long arduous process. However I think the media I was given with the cabinet was extremely fine and didn't really remove the build up very easily.
What is the best media to use for small parts like this with heavy build up ?
I have a cabinet with a vacuum and a 30 gal compressor. It handled it well but it took forever to get the pedals to this point.

    Any help would be great.
    Thanks
    Mike

  10. tractor supply sells a black slag product that beats up rust pretty good. i have used the finer grit that they sell.

Northern Tool does too. I have an unopened bucket in the shop if you need it.

Black Beauty has sharp edges on it and works really well on rusty parts, not recommended for sheetmetal though.

I try to hand sand everything to get the vibe of the parts.

don't know much about middleboro, but...
3 govners on a beach find a bottle with a geenie, granted all a wish...
MA. gov asked for a ten foot wall around the state because of all the people driving through...
NH. gov wanted the best fishing and hunting in the world...
ME. gov asked if the MA. wall will hold water, geenie says yes, ME. gov asked her to fill it...
that should just about "cover" middleboro...

  23. make sure the tip isn't worn and the sand is "clean". a worn tip will make the blaster weak.

I went this afternoon and bought 100lbs of black diamond from TSC. Switched everything over to it and went to town. What a difference ! Got the pedals finished and cleaned up some steering parts also. Not sure which nozzle to use though...he gave me 3 with it so I used the one in the middle.
Everything seemed to work as it should.
    Thanks for your help.
