Dare I say it, but the weather is looking great. We're ready to go!

 

We're going this year. Weather looks to be in the low 70's. Super stoked to get out of the neighborhood.

 

Anyone know when the gates open on Friday and Saturday?
Also, what time do things wind down on Friday and Saturday?

Gates open at Noon Friday, 8 A.M. Saturday. Torquefest never really winds down. I thought the weather this week-end was warmer than last year's bone chiller!

Well, it's about a day away. Just an FYI (because I am a bit anal about running No Ethanol Fuel in my hot rod) If you will be taking 151 SE, just before you get to Platteville is the small town of Belmont. The First Capital Mini Mart sells 87 Octane No Ethanol Fuel. Take Exit 26, turn left over the bridge and it will be on your left just after the bridge.

I know many years us Torque Fest Faithful's have endured rain. We grin and bear it and have a great time anyway. But lets be honest, it's more fun in the sun. This year it appears the sun will grace Vintage Torque Fest for 3 straight days!

If you guys are looking for non-ethanol blend fuels, Casey's General Stores sell an 87 no ethanol.

 

Ethanol-free gas ("Recreation Gas") at several Marathon stations in the Rockford/Belvidere area is 90 octane. Availability is seasonal so I am not 100% certain that it is out yet this year.

 

How about breakfast at the Sunshine on Saturday morning? 6:30 or 7:00AM. Vern, you call it. See you soon.

if it has already been inspected and qualifies for the show, YES. but if leaving it overnight please leave it in an established parking spot. this way with the main show starts Saturday morning your car is not making it difficult for others to park around and it does not look out of place.

 

The weather was BEAUTIFUL today. I'm rockin my first sun burn of the season. The turnout of Vintage Hot Rods, Customs, Cycles, and Vintage Race Cars must have been a record for a Friday. Tomorrow will be crazy. Shaping up to be an epic Torque Fest.
