I know there are a bunch of threads for these Classic Chevy's... But I didn't seem to find one for tire size...

I'm looking for input on tire size for my 1953 Chevy 2 Door Sedan... What do you guys run when you drive them?

I plan to run 15" Rims... the hubcaps I will be running are 15" caps... And plan to run wide whitewall radials being a custom car.

I currently am running the stock front suspension and plan to run 2" dropped coils up front...
And I currently have the 3" lowered posse rear springs installed...

I have way too big of a tire on the car currently. But it's all I could afford for whitewalls!

That being said... What size 15" tires do you guys run? Please Post some pics of your rides if you have some too. Looking for stance options.

I am not doing a Mustang ii conversion either... keeping stock front suspension. Planning on doing this as cheap and reasonable as possible. Just want one of the key ingredients for a nice lowered stance... Tire size!

    Thanks in advance!

On my Pontiac I run g78-15. Which is a 215/75R15 equivalent.
It's got heated coils and 3" blocks in the rear(pretty much 3" all around).
I haven't had any issues with rubbing or scuffing.

Just some thought, bell tech claims with their 6" drop for trucks factory tires can be maintained.

As they say"your results may vary"

    Thanks for the advice man!
    I will look into that.
Your Pontiac has a nice stance. I was debating on heating my coils, but I figure for the money, I can put new shocks and lowered coils. Jamco Suspension has the kit for under $300 which doesn't seem too bad.

3" all around is about the stance in going for too... Seems to be safe for not bottoming out. Thanks for the advice man.

    Anyone else have input?

    Way too big... 7.10 - 15's.
Price was right and I was stubborn and wanted to have wide whites haha! Car sits way too high currently.

    I don't think that's too big.
    7.10-15
    G718-15
    215/75R15
    Roughly same overall diameter

6.70 x 15 which was the stock size. I have lowering springs up front the guy I bought them from said they were 3" lowering springs. They were new never used. 3" blocks in back but the stock rear springs are pretty saggy.

I guess they're not that big... I just think they look pretty tall on my car currently though... But again I don't have the front lowered at all...
And the tread is getting low on my tires now, so I figured if I gotta get new tires, at least see what guys are running...

Here's a pic of mine currently with 7.10-15 on it all around and lowered 3" in the rear...

Thanks! Your Chevy looks great, has a nice stance! The new 3" dropped posse springs I have in there definitely aren't as low as my old saggy ones... Thinking of maybe adding a 1" block to them...
No issues with front fender clearance?

Thanks. It's a lot of fun!
Recently Did a 327 V8 and 4 speed swap. Just trying to get a little lower stance on it now. It's my driver, I want it to function for long road trips and look good. Haha

I have the tires for you! I will make you a good deal on 2-560r15s for the front. I am going to air ride so I'm going to a bigger size. The tires are Coker bias look alike radials. The rear tires are 710r15 just for info. They are staying on my car. Message me if interested.

215/75/15's here. In this photo, modified stock front suspension, custom made rear suspension. Hope that helps.

Thanks for all the info guys!
I purchased the Jamco 3" lowering kit for the front of my car and have the 3" lowered posse rear springs installed currently. I like the look of a rake with the front a bit higher, or with it lowered even all around.
