I would have strapped that flywheel in the lathe and put it on a 20lb diet.

Maybe in the future that will happen. My main concern is to get all the parts i need and get the car running before summer to get it registrated. Next winter some bigger upgrades.

I guess i should raise the front end of the engine a littlebit to get the waterlines from the waterpumps to fit to the radiator. I guess these rubbermounts on my car are stock size..? Then i have to check will the stock oil breather fit so that it wont hit firewall.

Any suggestions on a radiator? Would have to fit to the 32 grille and have all the hose connections for flatty v8.. I know you all will say go with the Walker but its just i would not like to spend 800 bucks on a radiator.. Are those ebay radiators any good?

I had this one but it won't fit. I guess it 33-34?

I also fired the engine for the first time yesterday.. Sounded loud without exhaust :)

  7. Superior Radiator will make whatever you want, for about half the price of the Walker. Just tell them what radiator shell and engine you'll be using.

  11. When I ordered mine, I also told them how far below the top of the frame rails to put the lower water inlets, so they lined up with the Flattie's outlets. They were spot on.

I got my aluminum radiator from Gearhead enterprises. They sell them on fleabay for $150. I haven't installed it yet so I cant tell you how it holds up but it does look very well built.

I have a 29pick-up (the one in my avitar) and the wife and I are driving across Canada from B.C. to Newfound Land and then back thru the U.S.A. following the old route 66. We are both under 5 foot 8 inches and the top is stock height and it is really nice to drive and we pull a canned ham trailer and have had no problems yet, so build the truck the way you want and drive the wheels off it when it is done.

Nice looking profile!! Shovel-head with springer looks good too. Does it have a pan-head bottom?

Yeah it's an Ironhead from 1975. You can see another one in the back of the car. From 1974.

I wreally need to redesign the clutch levers on this thing.. My leg starts to shake every time i step on the clutch. Stiff as hell. And since the cab of the pickup is small and i'm quite tall it does feel very shitty to press the clutch pedal right now.. Won't be anything to enjoy about riding this thing if it will stay like that..

Your drawing looks good. Longer leverage gives easier pedal effort.

Hi guys.. A small problem that might have a big solution.

I don't have any oil pressure. I've been reading all the threads about this issue and trying some basic stuff..

I tried that the electric gauge works by blowing compressed air to it. It works. I tried pouring some oil to the hole behind the block that the gauge is installed to and started few times for a while without plugs.. Nothing. Is there anything to do besides taking the oilpan off and checking the pump? There is no leaks in front or the back of the engine so i assume the plugs to the oil galley are in.

Is there something i can check from the breather hole before taking this shit apart?

    Help would be much appreciated.

I took the oilpan off and took the oilpump apart. Cleaned everything and assembled with the 80w90 inside. Still no pressure on the gauge. Mechanical gauge tested with compressed air.

Last thing i did i took the gauge off from the block and started few times and tthe oil is pouring from the hole quite well. It did not shoot to the roof but flooding from the hole. So i guess there is at least something. If not pressure but at least flow.

    What do you guys think?
