As I watched my gasser get loaded on the trailer for its trip to Texas and its new owner I realized that 15 years of my life was now a memory and the excitement for the search for another car was gone, and the feeling of what have I done took over. So I have decided not to rush into anything and make sure I do the right thing. Of course that is unless something knocks my socks off and I have to have it ,and we all know how that is.
I know the feeling all to well. I sold my '34 cabrio about three weeks ago but fortunately I had already bought the '33 sedan in my avatar. I agree, take your time, don't rush. Either something will come your way or you will gain a clear vision of what is next. Tim
To answer your question of "now what"?, you'll need to go back to the reasons you sold the car and start there for a wish list. Take your time and something will eventually knock your socks off. The car lives on (or haunts you) through your HAMB name. Great looking Willys. Looks like the neighbors will miss it.
It's a very dangerous combination, Cash in the pocket and an empty stall in the garage. I know I've been there. But keeping the stall free and the cash on hand makes the hunt affordable and the space to put a project a reality.
Onward ! Forward ! Have Fun shopping, New beginnings are just around the corner. AND IF you change your mind, you can go back, buy car back or something similar if Gasser's are your deal.
Do one last burn out with it? read new thread by nailhead terry -The thrill is gone or I bought a New Car
I sold my T and it hurt for about an hour. I went out that night for supper. The next day, I started planning the next one. Get back on the bus, man!
That is actually my house, with my daughter in law and my wife looking on.I am interested in a tri-five chevy junior stocker or a 40 ford cpe, I think? ? ?
I think if I had a coupe that looked that good and was going to sell it I would have already had a game plan on something better. I know how you fell though, I have my 37 pickup in having the interior re-done and it's only been gone for 2 1/2 weeks and I'm just down in the dumps.
You know you want a '40 Ford Coupe . Guess you should have kept the project one you had. I always liked your Willys.
This might cheer you up. https://classiccars.com/listings/view/804597/1940-ford-deluxe-for-sale-in-knightstown-indiana-46148
I'd do what I did 10 years ago.....take a real hard look at my hot rod bucket list and go directly to the top. Get the one you really really want. I wanted a project I could build the way I wanted so I bought a real piece-a-shit and began building. Still at it almost 10 years later because while I love driving them, I love building them as well. I've also got a low-buck O/T chevelle wagon to cruise in 'till my coupe is on the road.
That was a beuty. (Sold it now what.?). Pssh. Have a beer and roam Craigslist and go to car shows and be patient because there is alot of junk out there now. You will find something that will suit you. If your still interested. If not take a small vacation some were nice lol Sent from my Z981 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I like the 63 Chevy in your avatar. Has been my favorite year car since 5 years of age. My brother had one and he was working on it but he didn't live long enough to enjoy it he was 15 years older than me. I wish I could find one affordable for me to build. I'd say that as hard to see it go as it was it didn't go without a master plan in the back of your head for that ride that you have been thinking hard on for a few years.
