Yes, I have put some pieces of wood behind rear wheels, hand brake, and more : you can never be too careful;).

One problem, when I have take off the ramp, the crossmember is low, too low, too close from the ground...o_O, but, the engine is heavier than the Renault engine, and with my cut springs suspension, the car have too much rake....I need to buy original springs.....Tail dragger Fregate;)

I am glad you got the ramps to work under. If you have to use cinder blocks, put a piece of wood between them and the car. That is still not ideal, they can disintegrate under weight, but the wood will keep the metal from the car from cutting into them. You could also weld some reinforcements into the ramp if you do not think it is strong enough.

    Absolutely yes!

When I tried to find the right place of the engine, the first idea was to fit it in front of the front end crossmember, but is was not possible.

The only solution is to place the engine close to the firewall.

I don't know yet if I keep the original Fregate radiator, there is a problem with tube location and diameter. Of course the radiator will be place more close to the fan, and maybe with a fan shroud......

It's a work in progress, I place parts to see where they can go.......;)....at this moment, the done work is the engine and the gearbox placed and bolted. Still a lot of work, but it goes on:)

Don't be so modest Rat, you had the engine placement so close to the firewall planned out all along. To even out the weight distribution, right?

You could always run an electric fan mounted to the radiator. Then no need for big ass fan shroud.

I started reading this thread a couple of days ago, word for word, and finished reading it a few minutes ago. A car builder-modifier must stick to the project in order to get it done, and done right. I don't have the skills you have, Mister Rat, but I, like you, stick to the task at hand until I'm satisfied. Everything you've done has been impressive to the Nth Degree. You are to be commended. I agree with past statements concerning your future. I believe that someday you will be, if you want to be, an internationally acclaimed hot rod builder, if not in France, then perhaps here in the United States.

If he's 6 volt, I'm willing to send him an electric fan from speedway. I'm less than an hour away from them. Give for the cause. And the posts.

Thanks for that;), but everything in the car will be in 12V. I must review all the electricity, the original wiring is not fuses equipped, and it's better to do something new and safer.

Sharing with you it's my pleasure, and only on The Hamb.
People here are good guys, like you vetteguy402:).

Don't EVER sell you self short!
You do what any kid would have done in 1961!

That is Era Perfect down to a T!

And the crude, but very well made motormount, is a prime example of what any right minded lad with basic tools can do. Regardless of year, continent and car!

    You are SO cool!

A day to disassemble the drive shaft:mad:. The Ford is in 2 tubes, I need to use the shortest, but the yoke was stuck and the u-joint was 6 points crimped:mad::mad::mad:. With my vise not bolted, crouching on the floor, with all parts moving, that was difficulto_O. But finally, all is disassemble, I took the measurements, and next week, I going to check who can cut/weld/balance my Renault/Ford drive shaft.
I don't want to do this by myself, and after the painter, this is the second time who I need a real pro. :). I hope he will not ruin me;);););).

320$ for the drive shaft. 2 weeks delay.

I must move the car:confused:, so I need to continue the work quickly.....I don't want to push the Fregate, I can move soon the car by itself..........how about clutch pedal.......after some cuts, and brake combo pedal removal......[IMG]

The hand brake cable and handle is in the middle of the pedal axle:confused:.....with some brainstorming, I'm on the way...
for the look, I have cut the long Ford pedal, and try to made something more discret with the old pad......the cable is not in place....a lot of trouble with the firewall....stay tune;););)

I'm continue the work.....a try for the clutch cable.....
That's work.....but I need to cut the pedal again, my knee is in the steering wheel:confused:. After that, I remove all, and I make beautiful finishes for all the new clutch system (paint, screws, welding....), it's not quick to adapt, because I must find the correct position of the pedal. It must be confortable to push the pedal, I do a lot of positioning tests (and the automatic adjustment is not really actually the best to have what I want). Rain for 2 days:mad::mad::mad::mad:.....
