Most men ( and women) my age will tell you that moredoor and hotrod used in the same sentence is an Oxymoron.

Some nice cars in this thread by the way. 4 doors is a sign of the times.

 

My '38 Fordor Deluxe the day I went and looked at it before loading it up and bringing it home.

 

My '50 Buick Special Deluxe Tourback. I know it's not the greatest picture...Will be putting the side trim and hubcaps back on it shortly. Original Fireball 248 I8, Dynaflow trans., 6v electric (wiring harness dash-forward redone), new BFG Silvertown bias-plies w-2-1/2" ww, rebuilt fuel pump, rebuilt starter. Powdercoated steelies in Stealth Charcoal done by Metal Laundry, Chesapeake, VA.

I've had my Oz 1940 Dodge 4dr Sedan since 1971, its been rodded since 1973, the pic with my brothers red 51 Chev 4dr custom is from 1981, I ended up owning the Chev as well for about 15yrs so 4drs are a common thing for me.........the vinyl top on the Dodge was a 1970's thing that lasted till about 5yrs ago, took a while to get used to the all one colour idea tho'........lol...........you have what you have......regards, andyd

Start with a super low mono spring, but have to c notch frame for clearance. Also have to raise motor and trans, floor work, don't want to drag oil pan among other things. Oh and your tires will rub, but that is cool. Thanks for the compliments.

I know they never build Fordorks back in the day but here is the Barris built car I will be taking cues from for ours.

56 Pontiac from Victoria Texas. Original paint, 49k, factory air, radio delete and power steering....

 

I mean really if we are trying to stick with traditional values when building modern Hot rods, 4 Door's are about the only think that makes sense, because a high school or college kid couldn't afford anything but a 4 door in today's market. the 3rd vehicle syndrome we call it, it's a car no one needs, but everyone wants so it has to be both practical and affordable. This is why I feel they have a place in traditional hot rodding.

 

I bought this wagon this weekend.
