WARNING: HIJACKING IN PROGRESS, please return your tray tables to their locked position and be prepared to give up your seat to airline personnel.

I am finding that maroon (non metallic) is one of the tougher colors to pick out. There seems to be 2 major categories to the shade,
    1. one being cooler and comprised of more red, purple, pink hues and
    2. a warmer category that has more browns, and earthy tones.

Some of it is lighting I am aware but I have spent hours in the paint store this week looking at chips and it is difficult. I took home a pint yesterday (paint not beer) for a spray out and it is very cold, maybe too cold for the look I am chasing.

HD1084 just posted a picture above that is a cooler shade to illustrate my point, directly above that I posted a crazy car off the interwebs that is a warmer color. The 40 ford Mandarin maroon (Ditzler 50742) is warm but an old paint recipe that lacks the depth I desire. The color I sprayed out was 70 Ford Royal Maroon (Ditzler 50746) is cooler than I desire.

If any of you have color codes of a nice warm, non-metallic maroon that you wouldn't mind sharing I would be appreciative.

I now return you to your inflight movie.

Man I feel your pain, picking a color that you intend to live with on something as important as a hotrod is a very hard thing to do, good luck!
