The nova is really looking good. I am always impresses to see Carly working on the car. A few weeks ago she was busy sanding away on it and now she is underneath it putting on headers.

I can't wait to see her smile this year after she gets a few passes in.

You may win "Dad of the year" in my book!

If my memory is right, I think that there are 8 to 10 registered this year.

Should be fun to watch them again

This is just a freshen up so no big progress to report, thought I'd share some of the obsolete go fast goodies I'm trying to get up and running again. It was cool finding the old Iskendarian Racing Cams rev kit inside the 301? mystery motor.....still not sure what crank is in it but that's another day.

Big Drag - which car is yours again? I am sure I know, but every time I see your screen name "big drag" is just think of Scott's rear tire wedged into his quarter panel...that was a big drag for sure

  12. We know who Big Drag Queens is.., who else has a maroon colored Tri-5.., OH WAIT, that didn't come out right! Marc's the driver!

I hate when tires fold in my panels so I just went with no fenders. I've been 1/2 assing this car since 2013 and finally decided to make an honest attempt at getting it tuned properly and down the track without driving over all my parts. The car is a 139" Woody Gilmore out of Pomona advertised as a ex Junior Fuel competitor from the days of all iron sbc and as much nitro as you dared. Zero information beyond that so tuning has been a fruitless guessing game to this point. The plan is to take the engine apart for inspection and to determine exactly what I bought and figure out a tune, so far it looks like it's been together for some time but with little use.
Fuel Injection Enterprises is doing the mag and injection service and initial set up tune for 100% alcohol. My buddies at AMS racing engines will inspect and assemble the engine. I figured it would be best to get some professional help since the engine seems a little hairy and I want it right. My plans of "low buck" racing is probably out the back like Scott's rear end but I like the car and think it deserves the effort.....ok so who wants a piece of this little chev?..lol

Thanks! She does have a ton of time (and dads money!!!) invested in this car. She is hoping to get an engineering degree. Carly has also been invited to go and work with the women of SEMA on a 1957 Chevy truck build in Pheonix this summer. If you guys see her at the Meltdowns stop and ask her about her car she has worked on just about every part of it!

Only if you help clean out the engine diaper....and if it stays together I'll help scrape the burnt rubber off your hood.

Those rev kits were finger killers, we ran them in our gas dragster in the mid 70's in a 331 SBC

  19. Make sure you get the brown cap back for your mag. They are hard to find and bring some money. If you really want to fill your engines diaper i can loan you a hydrometer. there is that chance it will fill your shorts at the same time.

Hopefully Depends makes a 5 layer SFI approved diaper, safety is no accident.

    That's what most everyone says.
I am just having problems doing that.
This was supposed to be my best used ever but not so much.
