Got a mustang t5 and bell housing behind my old 289 ford, however, i had to shim the heck out of the Ram hyd throw out bearing to get the proper distance to the clutch forks, Is this normal?....what am i missing here thanks Mark
Correct slave cylinder for the bellhousing and clutch setup? Other variables might be master cylinder and slave not matched. pedal stroke on master cylinder not correct Wrong throw out bearing for setup Wrong fork for setup.
Your pressure plate will make a big difference, need a diaphragm I believe. Is this the one you have, RAM Clutches 78130 HD Hydraulic Throwout Bearing 1986-95 Ford T5 Transmissions If it is you should call Ram.
didn,t mean to say clutch fork....meant to say fingers on pressure plate (it,s a hyd throw out bearing) you may be right about the pedal stroke
Not saying this is your answer but as the clutch seats in clearance will increase a bit . I had the same issue on my Power Wagon , flywheel was not OEM , a bit thicker than OEM, once seated all was fine
I gained about .200 The guy from Ram didn't have much of a answer either. I'm gonna reset the clearance and bleed it.....see what happens
well.....i shimmed it and rebuilt the bearing....seems to be working.....guess i screwed up the first time
