Almost any of them at wide open intake and no mufflers!

 

Tough question and to answer it properly I will break it down
1. I like the way my 396 in the Camaro sounds
2. I like the way my 455 in the Olds moves
3. I like the way the blown 8BA in my roadster looks

I'm kinda like Jay Leno........."if it explodes and makes noise"..........that's my engine!

 

I love the scream of a hi-winding SBC and the thunder of a roller cammed, monster BBC.
It's kind of a toss up. Like music to my ears!

 

Too many to name but top of the list must be early Chrysler hemi and its fun size DeSoto and Dodge counterparts.

 

Put me down as a fan of the Rochester fuel injected small block chevy...

Granted,I have a 289 in my F-100. But there's just something about the sound a full house flatly with dual exhaust.

Any engine that I name could be replaced by another engine at any point.

I like Offys, and Cosworths. I like V8 motors that are over square and pretty much anything 4 stroke that will rev until it comes apart.

Aside from that I really don't think that I am real partial to anything any more then something else.

 

Just to look at, 3.8 jaguar, flatheads, nailhead, early hemi
Just to have fun with, I am partial to the sbc 406 & de-stroked to 377"

 

Again,I gotta say," One of each..and more of a few...

 

I have a SBC 406 that has been on the build list since 1987......guess I should give it some love.

 

hard to beat the torque of a big block - unless a sweet running flathead -but, a wild dare to be different Caddy ain't too bad either

 

Nothing stops me more in my tracks than a nicely done Nailhead.
Chromed out injected Nailhead in an early 60's Nova custom going through my head right now.

 

12 port GMC's and Y-Blocks do it for me, but everything looks better with a 392 in it.

I'm glad there are at least 3 of us that favor FE's...Its by far the greatest bad idea I've ever had. To me, nothing sounds better than an FE......

 

Likewise I'm sure.

 

283/327s, especially if they have multi carb setups.

Besides that i'm a sucker for packard v8s as well.

Hard to beat the distinct sound of a flathead with straight pipes running up through the gears.

 

SBC is my choice.

 

With my drag raving background I'm a chevy big block guy myself. In particular the 396. But from my days on a top alcohol team, we ran a 500 inch olds. Nothing compares to the sound of a blown olds with zoomies.
