here's the Fremont GM plant, looks like about 1962. I believe they were building Pontiacs then. 5 miles down the road was the Milpitas Ford plant, which is now a mall. this photo is where Tesla builds cars now.

inside outside wiper would make sense if it was an open cab firetruck.

^^^probably a Mack Fire Engine. Many had no roof installed. Open cab in the rain, wipers on both sides.

no cars in this photo, but this is Fremont Drag strip around 1960. they raced boats in the circle to the right, and to the left was an airport

edit: looks like the drag boats raced closer to the bay. someone says that is the oval track flooded...

with a 1956 Chevrolet in the shot, this is no longer Irvington CA, but Fremont. this is the oldest commercial building in town, built in 1876. it is still there and a coffee shop now.

That tall hotel attendant was a great basketball player. I can't remember his name... Was it Walt?

this is the "mission district" in what is now Fremont Ca. I don't recognize any of this, so they are most likely all gone now.

this is Niles Blvd in Fremont. just to the right of the two gas pumps is where "Don's Antique Auto Parts" has been since forever. old Don has to be pushing 90 and is still there selling parts. rumors of his death have been greatly exaggerated. I lived here all through the 80's
