BTW, all the manual trans stuff from the 6 cylinder engine will bolt up to the 268 straight 8.

I wasdo going over the thread again and started thinking that you could probably use the stock Pontiac box and most of the steering linkage and run a cross steer drag link to the passenger side of the Chev axle.
You would have to do some work on the tie rod. Possibly swapping to later style tie rod ends and use a Jeep CJ tie rod end on the passenger side to connect the drag link. My! How time flies.......A year and a half has slipped by.....you got off to great start....so clever how panels were redeployed.....don’t give up.....it is Great project.
