Customs Trying to find old magazine article on how to install canted quad headlights by Darryl Starbird.

Trying to find an old car magazine that had a "how to" article about installing Lincoln canted quad headlights in a 1957 Chevy written by Darryl Starbird. Remember seeing this in a magazine when I was a kid, then some 3 to 6 months later the owner of the car moved to my hometown and a friend of mine bought the car. Finally came up with a couple of pictures of the car that another friend had. I talked to Darryl about the car, he said he remembered it, called it a "backyard custom" in that he did the headlights and wrote the "how to" article but never saw the car again. Darryl said he was writing "how to" articles and submitting them to many different magazines in hopes one would buy the article from him. At the time Darryl did the work the car was owned by Dan Moran from Moran, KS, and it was in pink primer. Best I can recall this would have been in a 1961 or 1962 magazine as my friend bought the car in late 1962. He thought the article was in a Hot Rod little pages but they didn't make such a thing. I have been looking through old magazines but have not been able to find the article to date. If you are looking through old magazines and happen to run across this article I would appreciate any information with regard to the name and date issue. Thanks.

That article is Starbird but that is a '40 Ford.

 

@Old Tin and New Tin I got all excited when you mentioned little Hot Rod. I went through my little books thinking I had you covered! Some of the Spotlite books have the Hot Rod logo on the cover. I checked Custom Chevies AND Custom Headlights & Fenders but it's not in either one.

Thank you to those of you who have replied. I went through nearly 200 magazines yesterday which were borrowed from a friend. I am looking specifically for Starbird's "how to" on the 1957 Chevy sedan in my original post. It is information on that specific 1957 Chevy I am interested in. Thanks.

I found the two articles on headlight conversions listed above but no luck on the one you are looking for yet! I also found one on dual side by side headlight conversions for 57 Chevys.
