    Hey guys,
I'm replacing some bad rear leaf springs in my 58 GMC 100 and can't get the shackle apart to get the spring off. The new spring has a threaded eye on one end and uses a smooth pin on the other. Are the outsides of the shackle pressed on? I have the bolts off but the side of the shackle is stuck on.

Ooops, nevermind, they just needed more persuasion than I was ready to give. Got 'em though.

tapered fittings are like that...whack it on the side with a hammer, it will pop off. Usually. Then you get a bigger hammer....

Yea, a little embarrassing. Us computer nerds are not used to using force when something doesn't work lol.

The old springs were just resting on the bump stops so this should be a vast improvement
