  4. So Chris I see you like using aluminum fuel line. I can see some real benefits to this, are there any down falls you've incounterd?

Nice truck! I'm thinking you're miles ahead of me, but you are aware that the factory roller motors take a special gear on the distributor, correct? Hate to see you have issues after all the annoying engine problems.

Nothing that I know of. Some Roller cams require a hardened gear, but I don't believe that is the issue for the stock roller cams.

I do this on all my cars. I use dead soft aluminum fuel tubing. It flares nice and doesn't crack usually. I am pretty generous with the clamps to make sure it is fastened securely.

Mik finished up the lettering and I was able to pick it up. I am very pleased and think that it was the icing on the cake. It is making the trek to Springfield, Missouri in 2 weeks for the first Hot Rod Hundred of the year. Expect to see me in your state, at some point. Drive em or sell em fellas......

What is it with sign painters that cant spell? I had o/t prostreet car that I had a sign painter do some lettering on and he misspelled license on the back of it and I had to show him in the dictionary the correct spelling.

  19. LOL! I painted a buddy's drag car close to 20 years ago for free and he wanted to put my business name on it as a sponsor. Anyway, another buddy that does decals made a decal for that...it should have read "Nostalgia Customs", but instead read "Natalia Customs"...

Took it out and logged 95 miles last night after work. Just cruising the back roads.

Great looking pickup! Congratulations! Thanks for entertaining us with your build thread. I would tell you to drive the wheels off of it but you already are. Have fun!

Thanks for the info and photos of your 2004R install, looks great.
Guess I could have pulled the engine to do mine but as it is now I will be able to R&R the tranny with the engine in the car, I like it.

Now my frame is cut up a lot so I’m having to figure out other ways to get the tranny mount in, I’m using the same Chassis Engineering bottom plate.

You’re right about the drivers side having less room, mine is even worse, I have a power brake booster in the way of the wish bone mount, looks like I’m going to have to move the master cylinder back about 7 inches when I get to that part of the install.

    Keep up the good work!

It's got about 3,000 miles under it's belt. I was driving it to work everyday, but it's supposed to be 105 degrees this week, so I pussed out.

I did find a few things I would do different. The minivan seat is great for around town, but it sits up to straight for long hauls. Great for your posture, but you will be hating life after 4 hours.

The heat in the cab is concerning. I spent hours trying to make sure that the cab was nice and insulated. I think next time I will spend the money and buy some of the reflective sheet under the floorboards. It's a radiant heat, you can't really narrow it down to one area, it's just everywhere.

The last thing is I have a death wobble. Not sure if I have enough caster built in.

    Thanks for checking Jay.

  29. If you think your death wobble is caster related, maybe changing the rear wishbone mounts might help. I saw your bare frame and studied it when I was building my 40, and if I remember correctly, your wishbones are mounted flat to the trans crossmember, correct? The bolt on Chassis Engineering mounts hang down from the frame a few inches.

See if this makes sense... by lowering the mounting point of the bones in the rear, it will rotate the axle towards the back of the car giving it more caster. These are the mounts I used. https://chassisengineeringinc.com/product/as-2085-wishbone-splitting-kit-for-1935-1940-ford/

    Just a theory.

Kinda what I was thinking. My scrub line is getting pretty close. I may have to raise the front end a bit.
