Bought my first 28 Model A with a 1947 59 A-B so I'm new to this and lack of knowledge on parts resources has me frustrated. I'm looking for a model A hood and nice leather straps that I've seen on some cars. Also can you guys point me in the right direction for 1947 59 A-B parts? I need a distributor, some other random stuff and I'm sure ill need more along the way. I've tried 2 places and so far they've let me down.
    Any help is appreciated

Yes Sir. Thank you. I have a crab style and that's what I'm looking for, the one I have is pretty much shot.

I'm also looking for a NY State fair License plate. I have a 1928 Oklahoma plate I might sell or trade.

Shortened or Bobbed, I didn't build it and it wasn't finished so I'm doing plenty to it.

  13. Check Charlie NY for carb and dist help or Bubba for dist, both are great.

  14. that would be GMCBubba in Indy. He has done a lot of work for me and is spot on, Jim knows his _ _ it!

    Flatman and turboroadster like this.
  15. Just guessing; but based on your picture, it looks to me like you will need a longer than stock (custom made) hood.

I'd say Rich may be on to something there. You need to get some measurements for what your hood length should be before ordering a hood. According to this a stock 28/29 hood is 27-7/8 long at the top http://nebula.wsimg.com/86f87685930...4493EDB42A0ECA4EC&disposition=0&alloworigin=1

"I'm also looking for a NY State fair License plate. I have a 1928 Oklahoma plate I might sell or trade."

What year, NYS Fair plate ? The "NYS World's Fair" motto was used in 1938, '39' & '50 and again for 1964 & '65 plates. There was also a souvenir plate for the '64 & '64 fair that was used on the front of a car (one-plate only years).

Depending on what you need, I may be able to help you out.

I was hoping for a 28 but didn't realize they didn't go back that far, explains why i haven't found one yet. So i guess regular 1928 and 1968 NY plates would be good.

    Sorry, I don't have a 1928 plate.

From 1968-1972, NYS plates didn't have a date stamped on them. The same plates were used from year to year and a small sticker was issued each year and paced on the rear plate, one on top of the previous year's sticker. After several years of use in New York Winters, the plates didn't look too good from the road salt. It'll be a little tough to find a good set. Sorry, but I don't have any of them, either.

Bought a pair of '33 Maine plates for my 5 window, THEN called the state of Maine... they can only be run on a car with ANTIQUE plates .... call your state to see if you can run them front and back...
...... posted the pic as a test thanks Ryan...

Thanks for the heads up. I can register them as long as i have both plates or one has been surrendered. But yes I defiantly have to call DMV to check first.
