Does anybody have suggestions for making these latches a little quieter? They sound like a gun going off when I close the door. I have sound deadening on the cab walls and in the doors, but they really "pop" when closing the door.
I feel your pain. Mine are noisy as well. Looks like you have weatherstripping to dampen the "door slam" noise but like mine, it's the actual snapping of the striker and the latch. Wish I could help, maybe they were engineered that way to give you reassurance that the door was actually shut completely. Don't know. Good luck with a solution..............Don.
I think you will find oil to be your friend here. I oil the latches and strikers on my 40 once a year and my doors shut so easily and quietly you would think it is a new cadillac... no kidding just use motor oil and you will see what I mean
Let us know. I think you will be amazed, just lube everything that's metal on metal. Your doors will work as smooth as a gravy sandwich Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
We used to have a stick of grease in the service station. We were required to rub some grease on the strrickers and latches with the oil and grease jobs.
