Hello All Let me introduce myself, I'm Chuck from Springfield N.J. I was bitten buy the car bug early in life. When I was young I built just about every car and truck model made. My first car I bought off my english teacher for $150. dollars, a totaled 67 mustang I rebuilt in my parents garage and it progressed from there, 68 cougar, 67 chevell, 64 4x4 f250, 72 el camino, 71 gto and a few others. in the early 80's I was rumaging around the back of a shop I worked at and under a bunch of stuff all covered up I found a complete 70 boss 302 engine. I asked my boss if he wanted to sell it and he told me he had taken it out of a totaled out mustang and was planing to put it in his boat some day. some time went by and his lease ran out so the landlord was kicking him out for a midas muffler. He asked me if I still wanted the engine so of course I said yes. I tore it all apart, sent the block and heads to machine shop and ordered all new parts. I had it all ready to go together then married with children happened. fast foreward three years ago, I told my wife all the kids are out of high school so I'm going to put my engine together. I started looking for a worthy project for the boss. While at my sister in laws house doing some work my wife said she saw an old truck for sale at a gas station so we went and looked. It was a 1953 studebaker 2r5. It looked in pretty good shape for a 53 so I gave the guy a deposit. He kept telling there was problems getting the title. After a few months of this I had all but given up. My sister in law has the entire family at her house every christmas so my wife spends the week before there to help get ready. To my surprise when I arrived there's the truck sitting on the lawn with a big bow. My wife and sister in law got the title from the guy's partner and had it and the truck delivered. In one year I got the original flat 6 running and sold, boxed the front of the frame, put jag xj6 ifs in. It lined up very well with the frame. I put the boss 302 in it with a 4r70w trans and a 8.8 rear with 3.73 gears out of a 2001 explorer. Now for the bodywork.

It looks like the body will still come down some once the engine and trans are installed.
