That's awesome!!! There are a lot of dimensions written out in pencil on the original plans. And some notes as well. One is a notation to move a rear rod mount One that says " gas pedal" another that says " weight jack mount" ( very faint hard to read) haha. Thanks for following up with that

 

He remembers everything , wish someone would record him for the history of drivers , car owners , mechanics , as soon I showed it to him and read what it said the info just started to come out

I saw on another site that indybigjohn has passed away. Name John Potts. He was a flagman and worked at IRP for years.

John was my media connection at IRP when I first moved to this area. He was a great guy with some serious history in the sport and I loved hanging out in his office at the track and listening to his stories. RIP mate.

Saw today that Pete Hamilton, 1970 Daytona 500 winner, who posted occasionally to this thread is going to run the feature at the Golden Speedway tonight.

 

Sorry to hear about John Potts. He was always a really nice guy and well respected.

 

Sadly Pete passed away this past week.

Clare Lawicki of St Clair Shores, MI drove the car into the steel fence at Dayton. Don't think the car was rebuilt . He also drove the Hoy Stevens GMC.

 

I think, but am not quite sure, that Claire Lawicki also was the owner of Hoy's old 37 in the mid '60's.
