Frank, thanks for posting excellent work!

It is kinda funny that some didn't like the late model chassis but fiberglass bodies are A-OK. At any rate I am fine with both and very ok with your roadster build.

  3. Are you keeping track of time?
    It's looking awesome man

Here we go. Beating the crap out of perfectly good metal. Made a template from the glass car and started in on the crown where it rolls over to meet the trunk opening. Lots of shrinking next. Trying to get it all in one piece.............................i hope.

Little farther along. First drape on the car. Having a tough time with my tooling moving this much metal. Moved the car into my other garage to make room for the other car coming home from paint. Also a pic of my garage sale find.Ray

  8. How are you doing that much shrinking?
That's usually 30k power hammer and 2k shrinking dies kind of project. Then it's a 20 min job lol

My thoughts as well. That's really the undertaking with that much shrinking.

I have a homemade tucking tool and make them about 3" wide at the bottom and 5" long. Beat the crap out of it and then trample over them with a HF deep throat shrinker. It ain't pretty but gets it done.
    My arms tired........................Ray

Might not be HAMB friendly but I like it. Don't tell anyone but building something like that with my own body is on my bucket list!

Nice work man.. You need to get some thumbnail dies and build a reciprocating machine. You can shrink that quarter in under an hour

What guage sheet metal were you using for firewall and subrails, and body?
i am building a 29 roadster pick up from scratch, finding pieses when i can to use for templales.
i had to make a sheet metal brake that was 53 inches wide to do the cab back.
