I saw that and started counting pipes but by then it was too late to correct as I was heading out the door for "fun time" and thought it better not to keep the ladies waiting LOL.
Dode Martin & Jim Nelson's slant 6 that was used to run initial tests on their (then) new Dragmaster chassis design. Would later get a Chev V8.
A bit of a story related to this picture. I ended up buying an Eelco Fuel tank on an auction site and I asked the seller if he knew any history of the tank. The gentleman told me it came out of an Anglia that ran a 6 cylinder back in the day (mainly at Island Dragway) "so you probably aren't too interested in that." I said "we'll actually I'm very interested and would love to see any pictures you may have of the car." The car was turned into a modern day race car several years ago but he kept a few of the parts when he sold it. The Eelco tank was the last part off the car that he still owned and finally decided to let it go. Here's a shot of the car and you can barely see the tank tucked inside the grill. I told him this tank will have a new lease on life feeding a 302 GMC in a dragster and he said he was hoping it would go to a good home. I hope that is the case and I'm proud to be the next care taker of the tank out of this awesome little car.
COUNTN'CARBS, That's awesome, did he tell what it ran ET-MPH, it looks like it has side daft Webers on it, must have ran good...
wow, if that was a cut down 32 5 window it would be what I picture my car being in the early sixties....
He never would tell me what it ran other than it ran "pretty damn good for a six." He said it was a 292 with a Joe Mondello worked head, 3 side draft Webers, T10 and Olds rear with 4:56 gears. The really cool thing is as we talked he just kept going and you could tell a lot of good memories were coming back to him. Before he hung up he said "well... thank you for taking me down memory lane" and I told him no...thank you for taking me down your memory lane. Good Stuff.... View attachment 3474411 [/quote]
