Looking for memorabilia form Westwood BC race Circuit circa 1965-68. Laurie Craig in particular. 907-623-0973
I got nothing other than to brag that I raced my gearbox kart there in the early eighties. What a place that was and an unforgettable experience. I think @falcongeorge said his dad had done some racing there. What a shame it no longer exists.
There is a Vancouver based website called "Racing thru the Raindrops" which deals with BC and Wa state racing of all types. The link will be below. Scroll way down the right hand side. The top Westwood link doesn't work. So drop several inches down the right and there are all sorts of articles on Westwood. Also, Tom Johnson wrote a book about Westwood and has tons of photos. The Sports Car Club of BC and the Vintage Racing club of BC also have websites with tons of info. I raced novice there in 1962 rather unsuccessfully because my TR3 was my daily transport and I couldn't afford the repairs. Oh well... http://befastpast.blogspot.ca/
There is also a Westwood Motorsports Park facebook page. Brian Pratt who runs the racin blog also is involved with the greater Vancouver motorsports pioneer society. Laurie Craig was inducted some years ago.
Yes, my dad raced bikes there in the very early days. He raced more at Abbotsford airstrip, things were winding down by the time Westwood came online. I think he rode some sort of Oldtimers race there in the eighties as well, I wasn't at home then.
